Terms of service
The agreement between you and dawaty when you use the service to invite guests.
These terms apply to dawaty (دعوتي), a service for creating digital invitations, sending them on WhatsApp, collecting replies and checking guests in at the door. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you use dawaty on behalf of a company, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
The service
dawaty lets a host create an event, choose an invitation design, build a guest list, send each guest a personal invitation link, collect replies with seat counts, schedule reminders, issue signed QR tickets and scan them at the door. Guests use the invitation page without an account.
We improve the service continuously and may add, change or remove features. We will not remove a capability you have paid credits for without notice and a reasonable alternative.
Your account
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Keep your sign-in details confidential and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. You are responsible for what is done through your account.
You may add other people to an event as organisers or door managers. They act under your account's permissions and you are responsible for the access you grant them.
Credits and payment
Invitations are paid for in credits. One credit sends one invitation to one guest and covers that guest's personal link, reply, scheduled reminders and ticket. The price of a credit is shown on this website and at checkout before you pay.
Credits do not expire. A credit is consumed when an invitation is sent and cannot be refunded once used. If you have unused credits and wish to close your account, contact us and we will review your request.
Payments are processed by our payment provider. Prices are shown in Saudi riyals and include applicable value added tax unless stated otherwise.
New accounts may receive a number of free credits. We may change the number of free credits offered to new accounts at any time.
Your guests and their data
You decide who to invite. You confirm that you have the right to contact each guest about your event and that the information you upload about them is accurate. You must not upload lists of people who have no connection to your event, and you must not use dawaty to send marketing or unsolicited messages.
Guest data you upload remains yours. We process it only to provide the service, as described in our privacy policy. If a guest asks you to stop contacting them, honour the request; you can also ask us to suppress their number.
Acceptable use
You must not use dawaty to:
- send messages that are unlawful, deceptive, threatening or offensive;
- send messages to people who have not agreed to receive them or who have asked you to stop;
- infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy;
- attempt to bypass sending limits, forge tickets or interfere with the service;
- resell access to the service without our written agreement.
Messages are delivered through WhatsApp and are subject to the messaging provider's and WhatsApp's own policies, including the hours in which messages may be sent. We may refuse or delay delivery to comply with them.
Guests
If you received an invitation, the link and the ticket are personal to you. Please do not forward your ticket to others: each ticket admits the seats confirmed under your name and stops working once scanned. The host, not dawaty, is responsible for the event and its arrangements.
Availability
We aim to keep the service available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Delivery of WhatsApp messages depends on the messaging provider and the recipient's device and network. The door screen is designed to keep working without signal, but you remain responsible for having a fallback plan at your event, such as a printed guest list.
Content and intellectual property
The invitation designs, the software and the dawaty brand belong to us. You receive a licence to use them within the service for your events. The text, names, photos and other content you add remain yours; you grant us the right to store and display them as needed to provide the service. You confirm that you have the right to use any photo you upload.
Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is used to send unsolicited messages, or that puts the service or other users at risk. Where reasonable, we will warn you first and give you the chance to export your data.
Liability
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses, for losses caused by a messaging provider or carrier failing to deliver a message, or for the conduct of an event. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for credits in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Disputes will be brought before the competent courts of the Kingdom, unless mandatory law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms we update the date at the top of this page. For material changes we notify hosts by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after the change means you accept the updated terms.
